Tronsmart T6 Plus Upgraded Edition Soundpulse Bluetooth Speaker Review

Buying lesser known or off-branded products from China can be a bit of a gamble. Sometimes they’re surprisingly great, but sometimes these things just don’t quite work out the way we hoped they would. The T6 Plus Upgraded Edition just happens to be one of these types of situations, it looks okay on the surface but struggles to compare. Here’s our T6 Plus Upgraded Edition Soundpulse Bluetooth Speaker review:

T6 Plus Upgraded Edition Soundpulse Bluetooth Speaker
Manufacturer: Tronsmart
MSRP: $59.98 USD

Out of the box, the Tronsmart T6 Plus looks pretty nice. It’s got a smooth rubbery surface with the nice tight speaker grill covers, and it feels pretty sturdy in the hand. However, because this speaker fires the bass from the bottom and out through small holes on the back, no matter how I positioned this speaker it sounds muffled. I tried placing it upright in a corner moved slightly away from the walls so the sound could bounce down and back up off the walls to be projected but it still never sounded “normal” to me.

The T6 Plus Upgraded Edition Soundpulse Bluetooth Speaker has a couple of different EQ modes and while some songs sounded better (green light for bass, white light for things with more mids and highs) with different modes, nothing ever seemed to rectify the decision of the design team. Laying on its side, buttons face down so the speaker could thump unhindered while playing sound straight up into the air gave me a less muffled sound but with that also took away a considerable amount of power from the bass.

Church by Samm Henshaw has a nice healthy punch when it’s standing up right, but sounds considerably weaker laying down. Valentino by 24kGoldn has absolutely no bite and feels like it’s straining the speaker just to properly play unless you punch the bass mode on.

While I appreciate the long battery life and the AUX cable option as well as the SD card option and the USB charging port, there’s better sounding speakers out there that have these options – but for $60 bucks you could beat this thing around in the gym or something but unless you’re really in need of a speaker that has the ability to play music off AUX or a SD card, I can’t really recommend this speaker over even Tronsmart’s other option that sounds just as good that you can get two of and pair together for a better and louder experience.
